matraresidencies

on invitation or by application, university reseachers and professional artists can use the matrabox for projects related to the research interests of matralab director Sandeep Bhagwati. These residencies typically are between 1 day and 1 month in duration. During longer residencies, the space is expected to be shared with other artists/researchers.

A residency can take different forms - access to the space only, access to space with some technical assistance, access to the space with research support, or full collaboration - according to project needs and availability.  At this time, matralab does not have funding for artist stipends or cash expenses.  All support will be in-kind only.  Applications are accepted on an on-going basis and should include…

Evelyn Doerr and Hanne Doerr - Salome.  Conceptual explorations around 3D spatialized vocal sounds from an opera by Richard Strauss combined with body/space concepts by Rudolf Laban.

Anahata - Workshop session on an interdisciplinary score by Sandeep Bhagwati with Han Soo Cho (Korean drum dance), and Jin Hi Kim (electric komungo).

jamoma Development Group - Discussion day with the international group of jamoma software designers on uses of the jamoma open-source project at matralab
