The world-renowned sheng virtuoso, Wu Wei will work with Sandeep Bhagwati and RA Navid Navab on the “Native Alien” project.

After the trombone virtuoso Mike Svoboda (Basel), the Dhrupad singer Amelia Cuni (Vicenza/Berlin), the multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia (New York/Los Angeles) and cellist Rohan de Saram (London. UK) is the fifth eminent musician to work on this project since Spring 2011. Until Spring 2012, he will be followed by bass clarinet wizard Lori Freedman (Montréal), pianist and composer David Rosenboom (Valencia, CA) and finally by Dhruba Ghosh, Sarangi master.

Watch out for our announcements: each residence will end with a semi-public demonstration of our work together: A good chance to learn more about the project and about the musician. Wu Wei’s presentation will likely take place on Dec 19 afternoon (more details to follow).
