Katja Heldt is a musicologist based in Berlin. She studied musicology and Romance studies at the University of Cologne, Université de Montréal and Humboldt University of Berlin. She is specialized in music sociology and interested in communication processes in contemporary music. Her research focusses on the impact of transcultural phenomena on musical interaction in Montréal and Berlin. As a fellow of the DAAD scholarship, she stays at the matralab for a research residency and accompanies the project Sound of Montreal.
