The world-renowned solo cellist, Rohan de Saram will work with Sandeep Bhagwati and RA Navid Navab on the “Native Alien” project.

After the trombone virtuoso Mike Svoboda (Basel), the Dhrupad singer Amelia Cuni (Vicenza/Berlin), the multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia (New York/Los Angeles), de Saram is the fourth eminent musician to work on this project since Spring 2011. Until Spring 2012, he will be followed by sheng virtuoso Wu Wei (Beijing/Berlin) in December, bass clarinet wizard Lori Freedman (Montréal), pianist and composer David Rosenboom (Valencia, CA) and finally by Dhruba Ghosh, Sarangi master.

Watch out for our announcements: each residence will end with a semi-public demonstration of our work together: A good chance to learn more about the project and about the musician. Rohan de Saram’s presentation will likely take place on Nov 25 around noon (more details to follow)
