ECHOLOT : KLAUS JANEK & MILENA KIPFMÜLLER
Performance, Lecture & Discussion in collaboration with the Goethe Institute
ECHOLOT (echo depth finder) is a performance installation by Milena Kipfmüller and Klaus Janek at the Goethe Institut, Montréal during Nuit Blanche on February 27. At matralab, they will present another version of the installation – a deeper investigation of this work. In the accompanying lecture, they analyze the collective process and the mechanism of semantic and musical reception in “Echolot”, where sounds move between discernible and non-discernible languages and abstract sound sources. What kind of meaning is lost and what kind of understanding is created?
MILENA KIPFMÜLLER & KLAUS JANEK are two experimental artist-musicians from Berlin who often collaborate on experimental performance formats between installation, radio show, interview, theatre and concert.
