How To Inhabit These Different Temporalities

Berlin, Martin-Gropius- Bau

August 21, 2020 โ€• August 23, 2020

Next week, Ensemble Extrakte plans to go into public space again for the first time after the corona shutdowns: In a huge gallery space at Gropius Bau with large, open windows, twelve musicians will rotate in and out, playing on six widely separated islands, reacting to scores of Sandeep Bhagwati and to postcard instructions by the public โ€“ who must maintain their distance. They will inhabit this space for three entire days, from 10am to 7 or 10 pm in a row, from Friday Aug 21 to Sunday Aug 23. As a twist on all the current video concerts, this concert-installation will be strictly local: no recording, no filming will be allowed. Whoever wants to see it, must and can come by to the Gropius Bau in the centre of Berlin. Maybe some of you can come … We are thankful to Thomas Oberender, Tino Sehgal and Anja Predeick who curated this project “Down To Earth” as part of the Berliner Festspiele.and who invited us to be an ensemble-in-residence for this exciting programme
