Stephanie Bokenfohr is a freelance curator, consultant, creative producer, and art director. She holds a B.F.A. in Design for the Theatre from Concordia University. Her training is rooted in formal design principles from the 2D to the 3D, allowing for an intuitive process embodied in tangible and intangible media. Stephanie is interested in light, shadows, and momentum. Her belief is that embodiment, activism and illumination are important expressions. She has exhibited in a number of group shows and has assisted some of the leading Lighting and FX Designers in theatre and scenography within the Montréal Community. More recently, Stephanie has engaged in a curatorial relationship with local emerging talents and concepts, having curated artists working in a range of media and scale. She tends to create spaces that are experiential and direct. Her curatorial research is invested in a search for purity and abstraction; excess and austerity; sincerity in contemporary art practices. As curator, designer, sculptor, lighting designer, or glaciologist, she believes adventure is key.
