Description

Berlin, Maschinenhaus der Kulturbrauerei

December 8th & 9th, 2021

On 8 and 9 December 2021, the live electronic stars Gebrüder Teichmann and composer Sandeep Bhagwati, together with musicians from Ensemble Extrakte and the Kairos String Quartet, implemented a daring concert concept.

The live musicians played with and after music in their headphones – specifically: the music of the previous concert (with a different instrumentation). In doing so, they followed a video score that directed their attention to certain aspects of what they heard.

On two evenings, the public could hear 5 half-hour concerts, each with a different instrumentation. And in between, they could meet Hans-Jörg Rheinberger, a researcher who has explored such iterative processes for artistic research.

More about this project in the current field notes blog and on the Maschinenhaus website.
